"Sometimes, you pursue an image, only to have one element nix your effort. However, this image fell in place just as I had imagined it. I first saw this double ender at high tide being tossed about by wind driven waves. I needed calm conditions, with an outgoing tide at sunrise. Consulting my handy Farmer’ s Almanac, I calculated that the perfect tidal conditions would happen twice a month, the first time in about a week from when I first saw the boat. On that day, I arrived at the location before sunrise and to my surprise, the conditions were perfect. Five minutes after photographing it, the boat was high and dry on the tidal flats."-Jon Vaughan, Photographer

Processes and Materials

This photograph is dry-mounted and personally hand signed by Jon Vaughan on the back, including the title, location and time of year. It is an open edition print on archival pulp paper with archival pigment inks. Please treat it with the same care you would give to watercolor art - framed behind glass and protected from direct sunlight and excessive humidity. The print is permanently dry mounted on acid-free foam board. Then an acid and lignin free mat (Crescent Select - White Sands) is custom cut and museum hinged to the mounting board. The finished piece is protected in a custom sleeve of high clarity archival Mylar film. All of the mounting, matting and framing is done at Yankee Ingenuity. The photograph is 16"x20" and the framed size is 21.25" x 26.25".
