Boatmeadow Beach, Eastham in May
I pursue sunsets the way they say some women pursue shoes – you just can’t have enough of them. On this particular night, I thought the sun was going to disappear in the cloudy horizon, but then it shown through like a red tail light in the fog. Setting my tripod at ground level I framed the silhouette of this small locust tree against the glowing evening sky with the sun close to the barely discernable horizon. Several years later, I framed the same tree against a pure white background, called Etched in Snow. Jon Vaughan
